Sam Colt
Sam Colt is an American painter based in Vermont, creating richly layered works that bridge architecture, landscape and memory. Using traditional Italian grassello plaster applied al fresco with oils, gold leaf, charcoal and oxidizing metals, she builds and carves each surface while wet, allowing images to emerge through intuition and disciplined observation. Commissions develop in response to subject and conversation, resulting in a material richness that expresses their essence.
